Terry Baldwin, MD—Illinois Gastroenterology Institute
Dr. Baldwin currently practices as a gastroenterologist. He received his BS at the University of Illinois and his MD at Northwestern University Medical School. He previously served as Staff Gastroenterologist at Wilford Hall Medical Center, as well as Chief of Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine at Yokota Hospital at the Yokota Air Base in Japan.
Paul W. Brand—Employer's Coalition on Health (ECOH)
Paul Brand serves as the Executive Director of the Employer's Coalition on Health (ECOH), based in Rockford, Ill. ECOH currently includes more than 135 northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin companies, representing nearly 52,000 covered lives. He is a graduate of Michigan State University, with a BA in Urban Development and an MA in Community Psychology.
Michael Bryant—Methodist Medical Center of Illinois
Michael Bryant has been President and CEO of Methodist Health Services Corporation since July 1999. He has served as Chair of the CEO Roundtable, a group of business and community leaders committed to achieving the economic development agenda for central Illinois. He is a board member of the Indiana University Life Sciences Collaboration and the Indiana University Kelley School Dean's Advisory Council. Mr. Bryant is a member of the Quality Improvement Committee of Premier, Inc., the country's largest hospital consortium.
Paul J. Gaeto—Caterpillar Inc.
Paul Gaeto is the Director of Compensation + Benefits for Caterpillar Inc. with global responsibility for pay and benefits issues. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico and a Juris Doctorate from DePaul University. He is a licensed attorney in Illinois and Tennessee, and is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Gaeto joined Caterpillar in 1989, and has served in his current role since July 1, 2006.
John (Jack) F. Gilligan—Fayette Companies (Retired)
Jack Gilligan is the president emeritus of Fayette Companies. He currently serves as a board member for the Creve Coeur Club, Workforce Development Network, J.C. Proctor Endowment, Bradley University's Institute for Principled Leadership, the Dirksen Center, and the Drug Prevention Network of the Americas. He has taught in the MBA program at Bradley University, and is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Stephen P. Goldman, MD—Caterpillar Inc.
Dr. Goldman serves as the Corporate Medical Director for Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria. He received his BS from Muhlenberg College in 1971, and his MD degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1975. He was in private practice as a primary care physician for 11 years in Allentown, Pa., prior to serving as the Medical Director at Mack Trucks. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for CSX Transportation prior to joining Caterpillar in 2000.
David Gorenz, MD—OSF HealthCare System
Dr. Gorenz is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Internal Medicine and has served as Vice President of Network Development at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for 13 years. In addition, he is responsible for development of the OSF Healthcare System Physician Alignment and Physician Integration project. Previously, Dr. Gorenz worked as a private practice physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He was also a clinical faculty member at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.
David Johnson, MD—Private Practice, Internal Medicine
Dr. Johnson is in private practice as an internist. He received his BS in Biology from Western Illinois University and his MD degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. He is a member of the American Medical Society, Illinois State Medical Society and the Peoria Medical Society.
Joan Krupa—Heartland Community Clinic (Retired)
Joan Krupa is the retired CEO of Heartland Community Health Clinic. She has served in many capacities as a board member and community volunteer. She has served as President of the Heart of Illinois United Way, President of the Junior League of Peoria, and on the Governor's Office for Voluntary Action, under Governor Thompson. She has been presented with many prestigious awards including the Dr. Joseph S. Solovy Award from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria and the Mother Frances Krasse Professionals Award from OSF HealthCare. She received both her undergraduate and master's degrees from Bradley University.
Dan Kueter—United Healthcare of Iowa and Central Illinois
Dan Kueter is the CEO of United Healthcare of Iowa and Central Illinois. Previously, he spent several years in Minneapolis in various corporate positions within United Healthcare. His other professional experience includes time with Johnson & Johnson and as an Army officer. His educational background includes a BS degree from West Point and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Paul E. Macek—Proctor Hospital
Paul Macek is the President and CEO of Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Ill. Prior to coming to Peoria in September 2008, he served as the President of Christian Hospitals affiliated with Barnes Jewish Christian Healthcare in St. Louis. He also worked as the Sr. Vice President for both Stormont Vail Healthcare in Topeka, Kan., and Theta Care in Appleton, Wis. These previous positions were all within not-for-profit integrated healthcare systems. Mr. Macek has a bachelor's degree from Concordia College and a master's degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota.
Jim McConoughey—The Heartland Partnership
Jim McConoughey is the President and CEO of The Heartland Partnership, a family of companies including the Economic Development Council for Central Illinois, Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, TransPORT and Peoria NEXT. He has more than 15 years in public service working on downtown revitalization, economic development and with various chambers of commerce. He sits on the Federal Reserve Advisory Board and serves on several local boards including the Workforce Development Board, PeoriaNEXT, and the Peoria Civic Federation.
Randall J. Moon—Archer Daniels Midland (ADM)
Randy Moon is the Vice President of Global Compensation & Benefits at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). Prior to joining ADM in 2002, he was employed by CSX Corporation in a human resources role and as an attorney. Mr. Moon received an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Wayne State University.
Robert Parker, MD—Health Alliance Medical Plans
Dr. Parker is Chief Medical Officer of Health Alliance Medical Plans, with executive level leadership for pharmaceutical, medical, quality and provider contracting services. Prior to joining Health Alliance, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Sinai Community Foundation and Chief Medical Officer of Sinai Health System in Chicago. He also served in many roles at the Carle Organization, including as CEO of Carle Clinic Association and President of Health Alliance Medical Plans from 1995-1999. Dr. Parker received his MD degree from the University of Virginia and he also has an MBA degree from the University of Illinois. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Sara L. Rusch, MD—University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP)
Dr. Rusch is the Regional Dean for the U of I College of Medicine at Peoria. She received her BA in 1974 and her MD degree in 1978 from the University of Wisconsin. She is board certified in Internal Medicine with a sub-specialty in Geriatric Medicine. Prior to her appointment as Regional Dean in January 2008, Dr. Rusch served as Chair of the Department of Medicine at UICOMP. She currently serves as the governor for the Downstate Chapter of the American College of Physicians and serves on national and statewide committees for the American College of Physicians.
Michael D. Stephan—Heart of Illinois United Way
Michael Stephan has served as the President of Heart of Illinois United Way since 2000. His career with United Way spans three decades, in Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Oklahoma City and Peoria. He received his bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University in 1986 and graduated cum laude.
Timothy Stone, Jr.—Decatur Memorial Hospital
Timothy Stone is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the hospital. Mr. Stone joined the organization in 1995 and previously worked in senior management at BJC Healthcare Corporation in St. Louis. He received a bachelor's degree in Business Management and a master's degree in Health Services Management from Webster University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a director on the board of the Voluntary Hospitals of America—Mid-America Region, where he serves as secretary.
Ralph R. Velazquez, MD—OSF Healthcare System
Dr. Velazquez serves as the Senior Vice President of Care Management for OSF Healthcare System. His responsibilities include building teams of professionals across the healthcare continuum. Dr. Velazquez is a graduate of Monmouth College and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He was formerly in practice at Rockford Family Practice before joining OSF as the Chief Medical Officer for OSF Health Plans in 1997.
